Fernando Alonso is testing his Aston Martin Valkyrie in Spain ahead of the F1 2025 start, with the feel of Formula 1 in a road car.
Last year, Alonso received his Aston Martin Valkyrie in September. Since then, he has been spotted driving his car on the streets of Monaco, but only now he has managed to drive the road car on a race track in Spain to get a proper feel of the machinery.
He says it gives a feeling of a F1 car after having driven the car at Aragon Motorland. There are no further details about his run considering it was largely private. “What a privilege it is to take my car to a track and experience things similar to a Formula 1,” he wrote.
While Alonso drives the road car version on a race track, Aston Martin is gearing up for the Valkyrie’s race version to make its debut in the premier Hypercar class in WEC in 2025 and also in the LMDh class in America’s IMSA series.
The team is expected to field two cars in WEC and one in IMSA in collaboration with Heart of Racing. They have undergone extensive testing during the course of 2024 and are not far off from its first competitive outing in February.
