Fernando Alonso is happy with the updates Aston Martin brought in F1 2025, which has correlated well and helped them push up the grid.

It has been a slightly mixed F1 2025 season for Aston Martin. They started off scoring points courtesy Lance Stroll, as Alonso struggled to score for eight races before he could in the ninth in Barcelona. Since then, he has scored in five of the six races and leapfrogged his teammate in the standings.

Albeit they both have 26 points but Alonso has a best result of fifth to keep him ahead of Stroll. The Spaniard is upbeat after a struggle to start the year. It is mostly down to the updates that Aston Martin brought at selected races, which has proved to be useful in helping the outfit.

The correlation has been good, which gives confidence in terms of further bits they bring, as they know they can deliver and take further steps against its immediate rivals. The last few races has helped them jump up to sixth in the standings, to be only 18 behind Williams now.

“I’m quite happy, and I feel the team is happy with all the upgrades we brought this year,” said Alonso to media. “The Imola floor, the Silverstone floor, and the front wing at Spa – all three of them, they were just delivering exactly what we were hoping for, and what we saw in the wind tunnel. So the correlation is very good. It’s true that for some circuits and some speeds, some floors can work in a different way, and some will be better in certain circuits, and some in another.

“I think we put the fastest car possible on track every weekend. I think the floor, we had the first indication in Silverstone, it was a confirmation and the good thing is that everything that we bring to the track is delivering what the windtunnel was saying, so very good correlation, so whatever we wanted to bring any weekend, we know what the car will deliver,” summed up Alonso.
