Alfa Romeo has shared a heart-touching video of finding and inviting a fan during the F1 Japanese GP weekend with an unique story.
Amid all the dramas of F1 on and off the track, teams and drivers always find different ways to connect with their fans. Everytime one thinks what more a fan can do, you are presented with something extraordinary and this story is no less.
Alfa Romeo has shared a heart-touching moment of finding and inviting a fan during the F1 Japanese GP weekend at Suzuka with a unique story. The team had ‘Goto’ in their garage as a guest of team boss Frederic Vasseur, but it took them two years in doing so.
The story started in 2019 when Goto sent a letter to Alfa Romeo with 19 euros from his savings in a bid to help the team in its development work. There was no way of contacting him back as the kid provided no details on the hand-written letter.
But the Alfa Romeo team left nothing out and eventually found Goto and invited him during the Japanese GP weekend. He not only met Vasseur but also Valtteri Bottas and Zhou Guanyu, as the F1 team put up a message ‘Thank You Goto’ in Japanese language on its car as a gesture for his dedication and love.
