Alex Albon analyzes Williams’ expectations ahead of the Miami Grand Prix

Alex Albon, Williams driver, has expressed his belief in the team’s potential for improvement during the 2026 Formula 1 season. However, he has also acknowledged that the road will be complicated due to the difficult start of the campaign.

Williams started the season at a disadvantage after losing the private tests in Barcelona due to issues with the FW48 car. After facing difficulties with an overly heavy vehicle during the first three races, the team has capitalized on the unexpected break in April to develop the car.

Albon, during his participation in the podcast The Fast And The Curious, commented: “Although it will be difficult, there is great potential to move forward. I don’t want to say it will be easy, but it is a possibility. We do not expect an immediate change, but it will be a gradual process, race by race.”

The driver highlighted that the team will bring a package of improvements to the Miami Grand Prix, scheduled from May 1 to 3. “It will be an improvement, but it will not be a drastic change. We are focusing on regaining our position in the midfield of the grid,” Albon added.

On the other hand, the team principal, James Vowles, has confirmed that during the April break, every hour is crucial to reposition the team and prepare for the upcoming race in Miami. Vowles acknowledged that the start of the season has not been as desired, and that these weeks are vital to assess what changes need to be made.

With expectations for improvement, the Williams team hopes to present a significantly different car before the end of the season.
