Aleix Espargaró will return to compete in the 24h of Vall del Tenes alongside Ricky Cardús, Arnau López, and Pere Xavier Montané
MotoGP rider Aleix Espargaró will participate in the 2025 edition of the 24 Hours International Endurance Race for Mopeds in Vall del Tenes, according to sources related to FormulaRapida. Espargaró will be joined by other notable riders like Ricky Cardús, Arnau López, and Pere Xavier Montané, making this edition one of the most anticipated in recent years.
Ricky Cardús has a long history in this competition, as does his father. From 2014 to 2017, Cardús was part of Espargaró’s #41 Team, achieving two podiums and a victory in 2017, although Espargaró did not compete in that edition. It’s worth noting that Cardús, in addition to his activity as a rider, is in charge of the Rocco’s Ranch motocross circuit, located in Montmeló, a reference point for motocross enthusiasts.
Arnau López, a rider from Caldes de Montbui, was also part of the #41 Team, along with Javi García Vico and Rubén Luengo. Espargaró’s team also fought hard during the 2015 edition, one of the most competitive.
Pere Xavier Montané, also from Caldes de Montbui, is a standout rider in the world of enduro, with an impressive track record that includes several national and international titles.
In 2001, he was the Spanish and Catalan champion in the 125cc category, in addition to achieving 7th place in the World Championship in the same category. The following year, he retained the Spanish and Catalan championship titles in 125cc. In 2003, he was the runner-up in the Spanish Championship in 250cc 4T and was crowned Catalan champion in the same category, in addition to finishing second in the overall classification of the 24 Hours of Lliçà. In 2015, he secured third place in the overall classification of the 24 Hours of Lliçà. In 2023, Montané won two new titles, becoming the European vintage enduro champion and winning the Six Days of vintage enduro, solidifying his legend in this sport.
Next year, Espargaró will have a different role, as he will take on duties solely as a test rider with the Honda team. This new situation, which will allow him to relieve the competitive pressure of MotoGP, will give him the opportunity to compete in the 24 Hours of Vall del Tenes, a race that has always been close to his heart. His commitment to Aprilia in MotoGP has been very demanding, preventing him from participating in this race on several occasions.
Espargaró’s presence in the competition is undoubtedly a major draw for the event. Since childhood, along with his brother Pol Espargaró, he participated in the children’s exhibition of the 24 Hours on the original race circuit. Now, his involvement is attracting other renowned riders to the event, as has happened with Joe Roberts and Gabriel Rodrigo in the past.
