Adam Al Azhari secures pole at Brands Hatch in the first qualifying of the British F4

#3 - Adam Al Azhari - Hitech

Adam Al Azhari has claimed the double pole position at Brands Hatch during the first qualifying round of the British Formula 4, a notable achievement in his career in this competition.

The Hitech driver set the best time at the Kent circuit, thus achieving the pole for the third race of the weekend. Moreover, his second best time also guaranteed him the top spot on the grid for the opening race.

With 30 drivers competing, the grid was split into two groups to manage space on the compact Brands Hatch Indy layout. The pole was determined by the best time from both groups, with the fastest driver from the slower group taking the second position.

Al Azhari competed in the first group, where he met the Donington winner, Joseph Smith. Initially, Timo Jungling set the pace, but Al Azhari moved ahead as times improved. With a time of 45.167s, he outpaced Lewis Wherrell, taking the top spot by 0.119s.

In the second group, Ethan Jeff-Hall and Haarni Sadiq alternated as the fastest drivers, though they did not manage to surpass Al Azhari’s time. Sadiq came close with a time of 45.601s, but the session was interrupted due to an accident involving Chiara Battig, who suffered damage to her rear wing.

Once the competition resumed, Jeff-Hall temporarily took the top spot, but it was Ethan Lennon who finished as the fastest in the second group with a time of 45.381s, just missing the pole.

Driver Al Azhari will start the third race alongside Ethan Lennon, followed by Wherrell and Jeff-Hall. The full grid for the first race is detailed below:
