Pedro Acosta has undergone surgery for arm pump after the Jerez Test, as KTM expects him to be ready for French MotoGP weekend.
Pedro Acosta (Red Bull KTM Factory Racing) has undergone successful surgery on his right forearm to treat chronic compartment syndrome, otherwise known as arm pump, following the conclusion of the Jerez Test.
The two-time World Champion, who finished P7 in Sunday’s Spanish Grand Prix and completed 51 laps during the Test, will remain under observation for 24 hours post-operation.
KTM confirmed that Acosta is expected to be fit to race at the upcoming French GP, pending a necessary medical check at the circuit on Thursday before track action begins in Le Mans.
“Pedro Acosta underwent successful surgery this evening on his right forearm to treat chronic compartment syndrome. He’ll remain under observation for 24hrs and is expected to return for the French GP, pending a medical check next week,” said a statement.
