Shwartzman achieved the first pole in Barcelona

Robert Shwartzman has achieved the first pole of the weekend in Formula Renault 2.0 Eurocup at the Barcelona-Catalunya circuit. The Russian has imposed on Will Power and Sacha Fenestraz.

The session started in the morning to open the Motorsport’s day at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya. Under skies covered, the Formula Renault 2.0 Eurocup has disputed the first classification of the weekend. After an intense struggle with ten minutes to go, Robert Schwartzman (R-ace GP) has been the most skilled.

The Russian driver has achieved a great time of 1:41.974, being the only one to lower the 1:42 barrier. In second place Will Power finished, which in this way contributed to give the R-ace GP team the full first row of the grid for the first race of Saturday. Third is finished Sacha Fenestraz (Josef Kaufmann Racing), who plays the title this weekend.

In a session that has developed without major incidents, the Top 10 on the grid will be composed by Gabriel Aubry (Tech 1 Racing) followed by Max Fewtrell (Tech 1 Racing), Max Defourny (R-ace GP), Charles Milesi (R-ace GP), Logan Sargeant (R-ace GP), Neil Verhagen (MP Motorsport) and closing this area in 10th position Richard Verschoor (MP Motorsport).

Xavier Lloveras, a local driver sponsored by the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya and by the RACC, finished in 24th place.

The first race of the weekend will be played from 12:35 local time.
