The Clash Returns to Daytona for the 2027 NASCAR Season

The NASCAR Clash returns to the Daytona International Speedway for its 2027 edition, preceding the 69th Daytona 500 race.

Renamed as Wheatley Vodka Clash, this competition has been held at the oval area of Daytona from 1979 to 2020. Afterwards, it was moved to the road course at Daytona, and in the years 2022 to 2024, it took place on a temporary circuit at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum.

In 2025 and 2026, the Clash was held at Bowman Gray Stadium, where this year drivers faced cold temperatures and a significant snowfall. Ryan Preece was the winner of this year’s edition, after the last race at Daytona in 2020 ended with only six vehicles finishing the race.

The new Daytona Clash will take place on Saturday night, February 13, 2027. Qualifying for NASCAR’s biggest race will follow on Wednesday, February 17, with eliminations on Thursday, February 18, the truck race on Friday, February 19, and the O’Reilly race on Saturday, February 20, leading up to the Daytona 500 on Sunday, February 21.

Information on the Clash format and entry rules will be announced later.

Additionally, it has been announced that the summer race at Daytona, known as Coke Zero 400, will be held on August 28.
