Top sim racers from around the region will be competing for a total prize pool of RM67,000 (US$16,000) in the E1 Championship starting 25 August 2021 live on eGG Network’s channels across 8 countries. Season 2 of the region’s premier simulator racing championship will be visiting some of the world’s most iconic tracks on iRacing, with eight rounds of thrilling action for esports and motorsports fans across Southeast Asia.

A total of 20 drivers will be competing for E1 glory, including defending champion Ar Muhamad Aleef ‘Hamilton’ (SIN) of Team Flash, Naquib Azlan (MAS) of Stratos Motorsports, Kalen Chin (AUS) of Blackwolf Wot Performance Racing, and Inigo Anton (PHL) of GT Radial Eurasia Motorsport.

Each week, drivers will go through a practice round, a 5-minute qualifying round, and two races on race day. Race 1 will be a 15-minute sprint race, while Race 2 will be a 30 minute reverse grid race. Drivers who finish in the top 5 of the qualifying rounds and the top 15 in Race 1 and Race 2 will earn valuable points. The driver with the highest points at the end of the season will be crowned champion.

“To make things more interesting this season, we are introducing new race environments that have been made possible on the iRacing platform. For the first time in the E1 Championship, there will be joker rounds with mystery circuits revealed to drivers only hours before the race. We have also lined up an oval race, fixed setup races, and some night races this season. It’s going to be the most exciting one yet for both esports and motorsports fans out there,” said Alex Yoong, Race Director and Founder of Axle Sports, the organiser of E1 Championship.

All rounds will be broadcasted live on eGG Network channel in Malaysia, Brunei, Singapore, Indonesia, Philippines, Thailand, Myanmar and Australia. Additionally, fans can watch on AVG in Vietnam, ESTV Esports TV, as well as E1 Championship’s Facebook and YouTube on Wednesdays at 9pm (GMT+8) from 25th August 2021.
