A summary of how things panned out in Round 2 of the E1 Championship is here.

Race 1 –

India’s Muhammad Ibrahim carried on where he left off in Brazil with another dominant win from pole position. The Team Flash driver was fortunate because the others behind him were busy fighting for the lower spots on the podium, with team mate Muhammad Aleef overtaking Mikko Nassi on the final corner of the race. Nassi lost momentum out of the last corner and dropped to fourth behind SafeHouse teammate, Joshua Thomas. Nassi was fourth with Championship leader, Luke Banister in fifth.

Race 2 –

The reverse grid race was filled with thrills and spills. Dominic Ang from Malaysia and Stratos Motorsports led in the early laps on soft tyres before a couple of small mistakes dropped him down the field. Muhammad Ibrahim pitted early and this allowed him some clear air to get up into the top 3 once the pitstops played out. He overtook Black Arts Racing’s Josh Purwien for the lead with only five laps to go. However, Ibrahim would trip up while lapping Keifli Othman. This allowed Inigo Anton into the lead, which he would hold on to till the flag. However, he would go on to receive a 10 second penalty after clipping Luke Banister into a spin just before his pit stop. This promoted Ibrahim into the win with Josh Thomas and Josh Purwien coming home in second and third.
