After this session, we know who will be the driver who will start from the pole position on the first standing start of IndyCar’s history.

The first group decides positions of the inside from row 7 onwards, eliminated drivers have been: Simon Pagenaud, EJ Viso, Alex Tagliani, Josef Newgarden, Tristan Vautier and Ed Carpenter.

The second group was for outside line from row 7 onwards. Here we had the first big surprise, because local hero, James Hinchcliffe, has not passed to next round by 81 thousands of a second. In this group, Dario Franchitti has set the best time of the weekend, almost breaking the barrier of one minute (1:00.021). Eliminated drivers have been: James Hinchcliffe, Charlie Kimball, Graham Rahal, Mike Conway, Simona de Silversto and Sebastian Saavedra.

Round 2 has finished one minute before it was predicted, due to an accident of Takuma Sato that has caused a red flag. Eliminated drivers have been Ryan Hunter-Reay, Helio Castroneves, Justin Wilson, Ryan Briscoe, Marco Andretti and Takuma Sato. James Jakes has been the surprise, he passed to fast 6.

The last round decided the pole, who finally was for Dario Franchitti, he will be the first ever driver on IndyCar to start from pole position on a standing start. Top 6 was completed by Sebastien Bourdais, Will Power, Tony Kanaan, James Jakes and Scott Dixon.
