The driver who took the pole a few hours ago, Felix Rosenqvist from Mahindra, had a clear target, to have a consistent and high race pace, with the main goal to go to the pit stop in a confortable situation and then be able to control the race on the second part of the Mexico ePrix. Things were going pretty well for the swedish who was putting a good distance from the second clasdified driver, Oliver Turvey.

But on lap 15 problems began. Some kind of electric issue compromised his race puytting him on the bottom and he lost 2 laps from the leaders. In fact he did the pit stop laps before to the plan. On lap 28, his teammate, Nick Heidfeld, got some more problems and he had to stop his Mahindra on the main straight. This was the end of the race for the Montmeló based team.

Meanwhile the fight for the frontrunners was building up and behind them, Lucas di Grassi started his comeback from the last position of the grid. So, a lot of opened fights. After the pit stops, Daniel Abt took the first position from Turvey who had a lack of performance. Vergne also had problems to follow the leaders as he was clearly get past from Buemi.

It was on lap 34 when Mahindra disaster become real and, definetely, Rosenqvist had to retire and only two laps later, Nicolas Prost was hitted by Sam Bird, being the frenchman who had the worst part, because his front suspension was broken i had also to retire. Everything was disposed for the final battles.

Audi driver, Daniel Abt, took finally the win as he could put a gap from the prosecutor group which was buyild by Turvey, Buemi, Piquet, Vergne and Mitch Evans. The first two drivers will be the chosen ones to make a very hard pódium finish and behind this group, then brazilian Lucas de Grassi, and actual champion of last season Formula E crossed the line nineth and he did also the fastest lap, scoring this way his first points of the season.
