Jenson Button along with his team successfully completed the Best in the Desert’s Parker 425 rally challenge in Arizona, last weekend.

The 2009 F1 champion Button had a successful start to his off-road career after he managed to finish the 2019 Mint400 in his white/green-liveried Rocket Motorsport’s Brenthel Industries Truck, in the Spec 6100 category, with navigator Terry Madden.

In his preparation for the 2019 Baja1000 event, Button took part in the Vegas to Reno competition in August, where he was forced to retire after hitting a rock. He then raced in the Baja1000 in November in a Chevrolet, along with Madden.

The outing didn’t go well as they stopped after covering 235 miles and were left stranded in the desert for nearly 17 hours, before anyone could come down to rescue them. The 2020 season has kick-started with their first outing in Arizona last weekend.

Button competed in the Best in the Desert’s Parker 425 rally, where he had Madden and Brian Shaleen as his co-drivers. As usual, they compete in the Spec Truck category 6100. The Brit qualified 17th in the Time Trials part in his class with 38 entrants.

In the main event, the team ended up 30th overall and 19th in their class in 8hr26m44.708s in the #6162 Mason car. Normally, Button reflects about his off-road outings but for this event, he did not speak much apart from posting about qualifying.
