Following today’s qualifying session in Budapest, the Stewards decided to hand grid penalties to two drivers.
Sam Bird will be dropped three positions on tomorrow’s starting grid after it was found that he had impeded Sergio Canamasas at Turn 1. This promotes Fabio Leimer to second and a front row start whilst Bird will now start from fifth.
Rookie Vittorio Ghirelli will also lose three places on tomorrow’s starting grid after it was found that he had impeded poleman Tom Dillmann at the exit of Turn 13. The Italian will start from last.
