championship, during Race 3 at Hungaroring. A race under wet conditions where the British didn’t do any mistake to win today. Eriksson and Stroll completes the podium.

A difficult race the Formula 3 young drivers had today. They didn’t race under wet conditions already this year, and also they didn’t race on wet conditions in Hungaroring. If in addition we know that Hungaroring has got a new tarmac, that presented a very tricky race so the race control decided to start this one under safety car.

The safety car stayed on track for two laps and then the action begins. Not for Ralf Aron (Prema Powerteam) and Ryan Tveter (Carlin) who could not start take part in today’s race.

Maximilian Günther (Prema Powerteam) kept the lead of the race in front of Sergio Sette Camara (Motopark), George Russell (Hitech GP) and Guanyu Zhou (Motopark) who immediately was overtook by Ben Barnicoat (Hitech GP).

The British won another position when, Red Bull young driver, Sette Camara went off at last corner and drop to seventh. Meanwhile, his team mate in Motopark, Joel Eriksson managed to overtake Zhou for fourth position.

Günther was leading under a great pressure from Russell who made a maneuver on the German at turn 11. The Hitech GP driver got the space to overtake Günther but he spun off, made contact with Günther who immediately crashed into the wall, as Russell broke his front lef suspension, which cause the abandon of both drivers.

Safety car came out on track for 7 minutes to clean the track. Thanks to the crash, Ben Barnicoat took the lead of the race in front of Joel Eriksson and Guanyu Zhou. Lance Stroll (Prema Powerteam) was running fourth in front of Callum Ilott (Van Amersfoort Racing).

When the green flag came back, Ilott was the protagonist of the action. He went wide and drop to sixth and then had a battle with his team mate Pedro Piquet for sixth place.

Meanwhile, Williams F1 young driver, Lance Stroll overtook Ferrari young driver, Guanyu Zhou for the final step of the podium.

After no mistakes and a poor of luck in the prior races, Ben Barnicoat crossed the line to win his first race ever in Formula 3, also the first victory for Hitech GP. Joel Eriksson and Lance Stroll completed the podium.

Despite the retirement, Maximilian Günther is the championship leader with 70 points, 4 more than Lance Stroll. Third in the drivers’ standings is Joel Eriksson who is 12 points behind the German. Barnicoat with today’s victory is up to seventh in the standings, only 30 points behind Günther.
