Aston Martin confirmed that a bag was stolen from the car of Sebastian Vettel during F1 Spanish GP and his chase to claim it was fruitless.

In a report on El Periodico, the stated that Aston Martin’s Vettel had his bag stolen from his car from outside his hotel during F1 Spanish GP weekend. They noted that the German went on his scooter to track down the bag using a GPS signal.

He used the Find my iPhone app to locate the AirPods in the bag. He actually reached the spot where the signal was but the bag and other items were nowhere to be found. The thieves discarded the AirPods to catch Vettel off guard and take away other items.

A statement from Aston Martin confirmed the news and the chase from Vettel while noting that the incident was reported to the local authorities and that they launched an investigation into it too, to locate the bag and other valuable items.

“A bag belonging to Sebastian Vettel was stolen in Barcelona this morning,” the statement said. “He tried to find it by using his iPhone to track his earphones which were in his bag; but when he located his earphones he found them abandoned and was therefore unable to locate his stolen bag.”
