For tomorrow’s race on Circuit Gilles Villeneuve, Lewis Hamilton will start on pole position alongside his teammate.

Let’s remind than Daniil Kvyat and Marcus Ericsson will have three-place-penalties following their accidents in Monaco, respectively with Kevin Magnussen and Felipe Nasr.

Q1: At the beginning of the session, Ferrari and Mercedes were the first ones to get out on track. Kevin Magnussen did not take part of the session, following his accident in FP3 earlier, he will start from the pit-lane tomorrow after a chassis change. Like this morning, some drops of rain threatened the session which explains why most of fast times were set in the early stages of the session, Nico Rosberg the fastest ahead of Vettel and Ricciardo. In the last minutes of the session, Rio Haryanto broke his wheel and punctured his right rear tyre, bringing the session to its end. Plamer, Wehrlein -despite a very convincing session- Ericsson, Nasr and Haryanto were out in Q1.

Q2: While Nico Hülkenberg and Daniil Kvyat were the first one to head out, Q2 was quickly interrupted by Carlos Sainz breaking his suspension against the Wall of Champions. After eleven minutes of interruption, the session went green again and, with the fear of rain and another red flag, most drivers went out quickly. The teams fighting for Q3 were Force India, Toro Rosso and McLaren and in the last moments, Fernando Alonso and Hülkenberg managed to sneak in Q3. Perez, Button, Kvyat, Gutierrez -who dominated his teammate for the second time this season-, Grosjean and Sainz were out in Q2.

Q3: There again, every driver went out in the early stages of the session except Felipe Massa and Kimi Raikkonen, waiting for a clean lap. In the first stint, Lewis Hamilton led from Rosberg for 0.062s. This order did not change in the second stint despite a very fast lap from Vettel who managed to get P3. Ricciardo, Verstappen, Raikkonen, Bottas, Massa, Hülkenberg and Alonso complete the top 10.
