Andretti Cadillac has shared two points on the FOM statement of rejecting its F1 entry chance whether for 2025 or 2026 season.
Following the rejection by Formula One Management and its statement, Andretti Cadillac has had a follow-up on that in clarification regarding two points. The first is regarding the entry year where it notes that it has always been working for 2026 entry.
The option of 2025 was preferred but when the FIA approved its application, it never mentioned or noted whether it was for 2025 and or 2026. However, behind the scenes, Andretti Cadillac always pinned with 2026 in mind as an entry point.
The FOM statement stressed on the point that Andretti Cadillac was trying to build two cars, one for 2025 and other for 2026, which wouldn’t have worked for them. The other points that the American outfit pointed towards was the meeting offer.
FOM has stated that they had offered a meet on December 12 but it wasn’t taken up. Andretti Cadillac, however, has refuted the same. It states that it will never turn down any such meet which is to discuss things about its F1 entry.
Additionally, they have noted that the work is ongoing behind the scenes despite the rejection. Here’s what the statement stated –
- When Andretti Cadillac entered the FIA expression of interest process almost a year ago, the preferred first year of participation was indicated as 2025. The FIA approved our application, with no specific limitation on whether the entry was for 2025 or 2026. Andretti Cadillac has been operating with 2026 as the year of entry for many months now. The technicality of 2025 still being part of the application is a result of the length of this process.
- We were not aware that the offer of a meeting had been extended and would not decline a meeting with Formula One Management. An in-person meeting to discuss commercial matters would be and remains of paramount importance to Andretti Cadillac. We welcome the opportunity to meet with Formula One Management and have written to them confirming our interest.
