Fernando Alonso has won the Grand Prix of Spain at the Circuit de Catalunya, after a good strategy and good tyre management, as Raikkonen was second, stopping in box one less time, and Massa has returned to the podium, after not being on it from the Japanese Grand Prix 2012.

At the exit, Vettel got in parallel with Hamilton and stood second with a British’s brake stuck, Alonso got third overtaking Hamilton and Raikkonen on the outside in Turn 3. Instead, Button was lost behind and Bianchi pit-stopped and changed the front wing.
On lap 7 Raikkonen overtook Hamilton in the curve of the caixa, a lap after Mass did at the same point, and Webber was the first to stop in boxes. In the next lap did so Sutil, Massa, Hulkenberg and Maldonado. Grosjean broke the suspension at Turn 12, causing the first retirement. Hamilton and Alonso also went to boxes, following the example of Massa. New tyes, and Webber did the fastest lap, immediately, Rosberg, Vettel and Raikkonen pit-stopped, but when he was leaving, Alonso managed to overtake Vettel and two laps later with the DRS in place, Alonso moved to Rosberg on the straight, and in the same lap, Vettel made it to the rise of the moreneta, Massa few meters after did the curve of the Caixa. Rosberg lost another position, because after two laps Raikkonen also would advance on the main straight with DRS.
Rosberg suffered greatly tyre wear, and stopped in boxes, Alonso also made it to the next lap, and Van der Garde lost his back left wheel, and although the Dutchman could return to box, he finally retired.
Vettel with the stops the two Ferraris got first, but he was under pressure to Raikkonen, the German decided to stop and box as the Ferraris came very fast from behind Raikkonen, who also went to boxes, but chose the soft tires. The two Ferraris got to the head of the race and Alonso pulled Massa 10 seconds away.
Kimi Raikkonen, after trying many times, finally managed to advance to Vettel at the end of the straight. Meanwhile, Hulkenberg’s wing broke off when in boxes he and Vergne impacted each other, Hulkenberg was penalized with a Stop and Go, and again had to return to the pits to change the wing.
Alonso and Massa stopped on the same lap, and the two put the medium tyre. To get back on track, Alonso overtook Kimi in the stretch, and Vergne turned to stop in box, because the right rear tyre exploded, again putting the alarm in Pirelli.
Button that had started a bit wrong, was going up, and proceeded to overtake Gutierrez and climbed to seventh.
Alonso was 20 seconds ahead from Massa, and 27s from Raikkonen 27, but Raikkonen began to cut the gap between himself and Massa. Alonso did the fourth stop, but the Spaniard went even ahead of Massa and maintained the first position.
Massa stopped on lap 55, and got surprisingly the hard game of tyres. Vettel also stopped in boxes and put the hard. This meant that both drivers were the fastest on the circuit, and both were getting closer to Kimi with only 12 laps to go. Vergne’s pitstop finally was an abandonment.
With the race stabilized in the front, the excitement moved behind the fight for sixth place between Rosberg and Di Resta. Massa was still the fastest of the circuit, lap after lap. Perez got closer to Button, but none of these struggles gave result.
