Alexander Albon says he is positive about Red Bull Racing RB16 as he states that the feedback on the car for areas to improve is similar to Max Verstappen.

As he approaches his second season in F1 and his first complete season with senior Red Bull outfit, Thai driver Albon expressed positive opinion on their new challenger, the RB16, following the six days of pre-season testing at Barcelona.

Even though Albon was behind on lap count to his teammate Verstappen, Albon feels good with the car, which he reckons provides him with a ‘good base’ to build off of. “I think the the positive thing is that we know the direction we’re happy with.

“I think the things we were working on during the end of last year and then coming through to this year, we seem to have just got the car in the right directions. I think it’s a good base, especially coming into the start of the year.

“And of course, upgrades will be coming through the year, especially during the early phase of it. So yeah, everything’s quite positive,” said Albon to media including FormulaRapida.net. He noted that his and Verstappen’s feed back has been similar.

The Thai racer also clarified situation regarding car’s stability. This was brought up due to Verstappen’s multiple spins during the pre-season testing. “I think we have similar comments,” said Albon. “To be honest, it’s quite nice to have that kind of feedback because I think we’re pushing in the same areas.

“As for the spins, the car is not really unstable. It is just testing. I think we’re pushing, seeing what the car can do. There is nothing really to report. If you look at up and down the grid, a lot of people are spinning just with the wind. So, it’s not easy out there.”
