Jack Aitken has won his first race this season after beating his team mates Fukuzumi and Hubert. Russell had electrical issues before the start and didn’t take part on the race.

On formation lap, George Russell‘s car stopped and the British was unable to take part on the race. At the start, Jack Aitken could defend his first place and was followed by Nirei Fukuzumi and Dorian Boccolacci. Tatiana Calderón and Arjun Maini had problems with their cars and retired. The presence of these stopped cars caused a Safety Car.

Green flag waved on lap 5, but Steijn Schothorst also had mechanical issues and stopped, a Virtual Safety Car was deployed due to this. The race re-started without any major change in top places.

On lap 9, Anthoine Hubert overtook Boccolacci for third place. The three remaining ART cars were on podium places. French Trident driver also saw his fourth place threatened by Niko Kari, but the Finnish driver went wide on turn 1 and was dropped to eighth place.

Towards the end of the race, Alessio Lorandi, who had been doing a great comeback, caught Boccolacci and tried to overtake him on lap 19, but ran wide. He finally managed to move up to fourth position on the next lap. Ryan Tveter overtook Kari for eighth place.

That ended the race, with Aitken taking his first win of the year and gets close to the championship lead. Fukuzumi and Hubert have finished second an third respectively on a new full podium finish for ART. Lorandi, Boccolacci, Giuliano Alesi, Kevin Jörg, Tveter, Kari and Bruno Baptista complete the points zone.

These results make the general tighter. Russell is still the leader but his gap is now only 9 points to Aitken, who moves up to second place. Hubert and Fukuzumi are tied for third place, 20 points behind the lead.
