Jack Aitken set late fastest time in a session interrupted by a red flag provoked by Steijn Schothorst. Charles Leclerc and Antonio Fuoco followed.

Antonio Fuoco was the first to head on track ahead of Jake Hughes and Kevin Jörg. Arden International set the pace during the first ten minutes before Charles Leclerc went faster with a 1:30.673 laptime. The Monegasque driver went into the pits fifteen minutes into the session, so did Fuoco who was shown the black and white flag for track limits.

Halfway through the session, Steijn Schothorst went faster than Jake Dennis who dropped back once again when Nirei Fukuzumi too third place off him. During the second part of the session, most drivers focused on long runs and set-up for those long runs.

With twelve minutes to go, the top 3 (Leclerc, Schothorst and Fukuzumi) went out again. At that point, the top 20 was held within one second before Santino Ferrucci went fastest. The ART GP drivers responded as all four drivers went faster than anybody, Leclerc ahead of Alexander Albon and De Vries.

The laptimes kept improving at the end of the session as Giuliano Alesi improved to second. Like Fuoco, Fukuzumi recieved the black and white flag for track limits. Jack Aitken went faster than Leclerc and was the first one to dip under the 1’29 laptime just before Schothorst stopped his car on track and involved a red flag with only one minute to go.

Jack Aitken was the fastest of the session ahead of Charles Leclerc and Antonio Fuoco. Alesi, Ferrucci, Schothorst, Hughes, Albon, Dennis and De Vries completed the top 10.
