Audi’s Nico Muller ended the one-day FIA Formula E Championship in-season test at Marrakesh on top ahead of DS Techeetah’s James Rossiter.
Muller set the pace in Session 1 and bettered his time in Session 2 with a 1m17.074s to end the one-day in-season Formula E test at Marrakesh on top from Rossiter, who ran in both the DS Techeetah’s cars in the afternoon.
The British racer was fourth in the morning session in the #25 car with Calderon (1m17.674s) setting the second-best time in the #36 car. With Rossiter running in both the cars, he was second in the #36 car with a best of 1m17.189s lap time.
He set the fourth best time in the #25 car with a 1m17.525s lap time behind GEOX Dragon’s Antonio Fuoco (1m17.338s) as Envision Virgin Racing’s Nyck de Vries (1m17.560s) completed the Top 5.
The gamer turned racer Nissan e.Dams’ Jann Mardenborough was sixth with a 1m17.672s lap time from DTM racer Bruno Spengler (1m17.735s) in the BMW Andretti car. The single-seater returnee Raffaele Marciello (1m17.763s) was seventh in the HWA Racelab.
The Top 10 was then completed by the Venturi duo Arthur Leclerc (1m17.782s) – brother of Ferrari F1 driver Charles – and Norman Nato (1m18.059s) with ex-F1 driver Sergey Sirotkin (1m18.097s) in the Mahindra Racing ending up 11th.
The Russian had teammate Sam Dejonghe (1m18.155s) just behind him in 12th with Nissan e.Dams’ Mitsunori Takaboshi (1m18.229s) 13th ahead of Audi’s Jamie Green (1m18.250s) – who caused a red flag in Session 2.
Jaguar’s Pietro Fittipaldi (1m18.403s) in 15th – from his time set in Session 1 – and Harry Tincknell (1m18.623s) in 17th sandwiched HWA Racelab’s Dani Juncadella (1m18.555s) with BMW Andretti’s Marco Wittmann (1m18.727s) in 18th.
A late addition to the rookie test fold, NIO’s Jake Hughes (1m19.631s) was 19th from his time from Session 1 with Envision Virgin’s Benoit Treluyer (1m21.181s) in 20th and NIO’s Jamie Chadwick (1m22.196s) completing the 21 runners.
Chadwick also set her time in Session 1 with GEOX Dragon’s and ex-F1 racer Felipe Nasr not running at all after some late contract dispute which couldn’t be resolved on time for him to be able to have its first-ever Formula E run.
