Lewis Hamilton has taken the victory of the Grand Prix of Great Britain in a checkered race that has been stopped for over an hour. The Englishman has also cropped up 25 points to his teammate, Nico Rosberg, who abandoned when leading the race. Bottas and Ricciardo completed the podium ahead of Button, Vettel and Alonso.
The race started in a very moved form. Rosberg held the position ahead of the two McLarens exceeding Vettel as Hamilton. Further back Vergne was ahead of Sergio Perez, leaving the Mexican to the bottom of the grid. A few corners later Raikkonen was leaving to rejoin the track and lost control of his Ferrari and crashed violently against the wall and bouncing off the track in the middle, where many drivers had to avoid in a very dangerous way. One, Felipe Massa, avoided him later and despite the spin crashed, causing the abandonment of the Williams driver, who today commemorated the 200 Grands Prix.
The race was paralyzed for an hour, because the marshals had to fix guardrails damaged by Raikkonen. The race started again but with the Safety Car leading the way until it went away to give back the green-light and the action.
Just at the start Hamilton overtook Magnussen, and on the next lap he did so with Jenson Button for second and went for Rosberg, who maintained the first position without difficulty. Behind Bottas made a stunning comeback ahead of Kvyat, Ricciardo and Hulkenberg for sixth after starting 14th. Alonso meanwhile also dated back to ninth after beating both Sauber, Kvyat and Jules Bianchi.
Alonso put himself on seventh but FIA investigation focused on the Spaniard for a jump start. Later Ricciardo overtook Hulkenberg and behind Maldonado was blew into the air by Gutierrez, and left him off track with the flat tire.
Vettel on the 11th lap entered to pits to remove the hard tires and thus leave a clear track for Bottas coming strong from behind. Ericsson had to add himself to the list of DNF drivers.
The laps went by and we had the front row of Mercedes, Bottas who had overtaken the two McLaren, and with Alonso in fourth place followed by Magnussen and Red Bull. Alonso entered the pits and served a Stop & Go he had received for jumping the race. This prejudiced him in the race where later looked like Button and Red Bull would stay in front of him.
Finishing the race, the pit stop of Hamilton jumped the bell at Silverstone. The race and Drivers’ world championship leader, Nico Rosberg, got the gearbox broken and had to stop his Mercedes in one of the loopholes of the circuit. That left Hamilton first and Bottas as highlighted in an impressive second position after 12 posts traced leader.
Vettel made his second pit stop and reincorporated in front of Alonso but the Spaniard surpassed him with a great overtaking. From there there was a pretty exciting fight for fifth place, which would last many laps with constant overtaking and risky actions until the German surpassed him in another impressive wheel-to-wheel fight.
Before that we could only highlight a second pit stop Hamilton to ensure his victory, plus the fight for the podium between Ricciardo and Button, where the British trimmed a long distance but ran out of possibilities to overtake. Before the end of this exciting race ww saw how Pastor Maldonado retired due to a break of the engine in his Lotus.
So it is Hamilton’s fifth victory of this season and getting it in from of his home crowd and cutting 25 points in the championship, now only four points behind Rosberg, who left after eight consecutive podiums today. Bottas has made the comeback of the season and has ovrtaken 12 drivers to achieve his second place and second consecutive podium. The surprise: Ricciardo completed the podium thanks to his good strategy.

Despite efforts Button has finally finished fourth, great result for Woking people at home. Vettel finished fifth in a discreet performance of the German, followed by Alonso with good eight points after the disaster in qualifying. Behind the Spaniard have finished Magnussen, Hulkenberg, Vergne and Kvyat closing the points.
This has been all that has been given in this exciting and long Grand Prix of Great Britain. Now teams will remain at Silverstone next week where they will spend two days of testing, with the cars are preparing to face the German Grand Prix to be held here in Hockenheim in two weeks.
