Alex Peroni has taken his maiden pole position in Eurocup Formula Renault 2.0 for the second race of Pau Grand Prix. The Australian has beaten Fenestraz and the R-ace GP drivers, Shwartzman and Palmer.
In the first qualifying group, Australia’s Alex Peroni (Fortec Motorsports) has grabbed the spotlight, leading the standings throughout the session and improving hislaps consistently, leaving no choice to yesterday’s winner, Robert Shwartzman (R-ace GP ).
Peroni‘s 1: 12.842 would be out of reach for the next group, with Sacha Fenestraz (Josef Kaufmann Racing) scoring 1: 12.901, losing the pole position by less than a tenth.
It could have been a lot different had the red flag not been deployed with five minutes to go because of Red Bull driver Dan Ticktum (Arden Motorsport).
