Spire Motorsports has confirmed that young driver Tristan McKee will make his anticipated entry into the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series on August 14 at Richmond Raceway, just 11 days after his 16th birthday. McKee is part of Spire’s Ascent driver development program.
Due to his age, McKee will only be able to compete on tracks of 1.25 miles or less. However, his debut in Richmond will not be a unique case, as the racer is scheduled to participate in several additional races, including New Hampshire Motor Speedway (August 22), Bristol Motor Speedway (September 17), Phoenix Raceway (October 16) and Martinsville Speedway (October 30) this year.
McKee will drive the No. 77 Chevrolet Silverado, with Chad Walter as crew chief. The young driver has expressed his excitement about this opportunity, stating that it represents a significant step in his career and thanking the team for their confidence in him.
At just 12 years old, McKee made history by becoming the youngest winner of the CARS Tour, and since then he has accumulated several victories in this championship, as well as successes in Trans-Am and the ARCA Menards Series. In his first nine events in ARCA, McKee has achieved two victories, including his win at the start of his career at Watkins Glen in 2025.
