Maverick Viñales has expressed his disappointment with KTM after the contract he had signed with the team was invalidated. The Spanish rider has commented that, despite hoping to become part of the Austrian outfit, the negotiations ended with a bitter taste.

During an appearance at Sachsenring, Viñales stated that he felt “out of this world,” referring to his current situation in MotoGP. His career in this category seems to be coming to an end, and with only one spot to confirm at the Tech3 team, uncertainty about his future has intensified.

In previous statements, Viñales had hinted that not being called for the Brno tests was a sign that he would not continue with KTM. This Thursday he acknowledged that communications with the team have completely ceased. “I don’t want to keep talking to them. Until last week they closed the negotiations,” he added.

Regarding his future, the Spaniard rejects the idea of staying in MotoGP, as there are currently no free spots available. He said: “I don’t know what I will do. I have given my all with the bike. Maybe there will be opportunities, but right now I am not looking for anything in any other category.” Viñales has expressed a desire to enjoy racing in the future and to consider different options outside of MotoGP.

The details about the contract are revealing: after having signed, KTM communicated that it was invalid only two weeks later. “The truth is that it wasn’t an adequate contract, but I wanted to race. I have faith in KTM’s engineers,” he stated, adding that this situation has left him with a feeling of disconnection from the world of motorcycles.

Viñales mentioned that, after the negative experience, he would like to participate in other motorsport competitions, highlighting that he closely follows races like the 8 Hours of Suzuka. However, with his current situation, he feels disconnected and does not foresee an immediate continuation in competition.
