Marc Márquez, rider of the Ducati team, has no doubts in asserting that his biggest adversary in the MotoGP competition is his own physical condition. After suffering several injuries that have marked his career, the Catalan admits that he still struggles with the aftermath of a fall in Indonesia last season.

Currently, Márquez occupies the fifth position in the world championship, 40 points behind the leader Jorge Martín. With an impressive record that includes nine victories at the Sachsenring, the rider enters the German Grand Prix as one of the favorites.

In a press conference before the halfway point of the season and the summer break of MotoGP, Márquez reflected on his rivals, but made it clear that his main concern is his physical state. ‘My great rival -or what worries me the most- is my physical condition,’ he declared. ‘The other riders are fast, but for me, the most important thing is to keep improving with each race.’

Regarding the competition in the championship, Márquez commented that in an open fight, the key is his own recovery capacity. ‘If the championship is open, it means that no one has a clear advantage. In the first part of the season, for example, Marco Bezzecchi has been very fast, but not the best, as Jorge Martín is the current leader,’ he added.

Looking ahead to the second part of the season, the rider hopes to know more about his potential and ability to compete at a high level after the summer break. ‘Understanding where I can go will be my priority,’ he concluded.
