The Italian driver, Antonio Fuoco, has set both morning and afternoon session best times for the second day of GP3 Series testing in Portugal at Estoril.

Even though it rained overnight, the track is dry and allows the driver to test in good conditions. Quickly, the pace is set by Jack Aitken (Arden International) who is the first one to set laptime under 1:29 ahead of Alexander Albon (ART Grand Prix) and Antonio Fuoco (Trident).

After yesterday’s session, several drivers were allowed to try some long runs to get used to the tyres and to set up the cars. The Ferrari Italian driver, Fuoco, managed to go under 1:28 and was the only one in the morning session after 43 laps covered. He is ahead of six rookies who already proved themselves in yesterday’s session.

Afternoon session stared and Haas F1 development driver Santino Ferrucci (DAMS) set the pace before Arden drivers took the lead, Aitken before Tatiana Calderon. Artur Janosz (Trident) was the first to break into 1m28 this afternoon, breaking Arden’s domination before Mahaveer Raghnathan (Koiranen GP) spun and caused a red flag.

Twenty minutes later, it’s Monegasque Charles Leclerc (ART Grand Prix) who stopped on track causing the last red flag of the day. Fuoco was the fastest at the restart, 0.062s ahead of Aitken, Janosz closing the top 3.
