An unexpected turn has shaken the results of the second race of Indy NXT held at Road America. Alessandro de Tullio, who had achieved victory, has been disqualified, along with his A.J. Foyt Racing teammate, Nicholas Monteiro, who finished the race in fifteenth position.

According to IndyCar officials, the disqualification is due to an error in tire installation. During the post-race inspection, it was discovered that the tires from de Tullio’s vehicle (car number 14) from Saturday had been installed on Monteiro’s vehicle (car number 4), and vice versa. This violated competition rules stipulating that each car must use the same tires it used during qualifying in weekend races.

This infraction is classified as level 3, which leads to disqualification, and both de Tullio and Monteiro will not be able to accumulate points for this race. As a consequence, Matteo Nannini, with car number 20 from Cape Motorsports, inherits the victory, marking his second triumph of his career and first of this season.

The final results also saw Tymek Kucharczyk rise to second place, while championship leader Nikita Johnson finished third with his car number 21 from Cape Motorsports.
