Diogo Moreira, LCR Honda rider, has expressed that Luca Marini’s lack of interest in analyzing his data is a problem that belongs to him. In the recent races, Moreira has shown constant improvement, surpassing several teammates and competing with more experienced riders.
In the past few weeks, the Brazilian rookie has stood out with notable performances, including a 10th place at Mugello, ahead of Marini (19th) and Joan Mir (15th). In the next event at Balaton Park, Moreira qualified in 8th, again surpassing the official Honda riders.
In the qualifying session last Friday in Brno, Moreira managed to go directly into Q2 and qualified in sixth place, while Marini did so in 13th. In Barcelona, in the same session, Moreira was also faster than Marini, although both motorcycles did not access Q2.
Despite his limitations in experience, Moreira has managed to maintain a good level. After an incident in the first practice session in Brno where he fell, the rider emphasized the importance of calm and data analysis for his constant improvement.
When Marini was asked about his overtaking, his response was evasive, claiming that he wasn’t paying attention to Moreira. In contrast, Moreira emphasized his willingness to learn and compare data with all his teammates, including Mir and Marini. “Marini’s lack of interest in my data is his problem,” he concluded.
With three consecutive entries in Q2 and the determination to keep working, Moreira is optimistic about the future, acknowledging that there will be challenging moments, but with a mindset for constant improvement. The Brazilian rider, who could replace Marini in the Honda factory team next year, continues to make his mark in MotoGP.
