Lewis Hamilton says there is no regret on his big move to Ferrari despite the F1 2025 results, as he plays heat of the moment expression.

Over the winter of F1 2025, the move of Hamilton from Mercedes to Ferrari was widely covered topic, making headlines everywhere. It started out decently after his win in China sprint race. But it has been despair for most part of the year due to struggles, whether in his control and or not.

He is still waiting for his first F1 podium with Ferrari with two races remaining. It has taken a while to adjust to the new system at Ferrari and new way of driving at some of the venues he has been accustomed to driving in a Mercedes. But there are no regrets in joining the team.

He feels honoured to representing such an iconic team and still has Goosebumps thinking about it. “Well, firstly, that’s a hypothetical question, so I wouldn’t really go into that,” said Hamilton, when asked if he would have signed with Ferrari still, knowing how 2025 has panned out thus far.

“But I would, absolutely. I don’t regret the decision I made joining the team. I know it takes time to build and grow within an organisation, and I expected that. So, yes. The passion is the most special thing about the brand and the people that work for it. And then the Tifosi—as we travel around the world, the amazing support that we get.

“I think that probably makes it even harder when we have the more difficult weekends because you can see how passionate, how dedicated, and how hard every single person is working back at the factory, and the results are not reflecting or rewarding them. So, you feel it more. It’s a big emotional bubble that’s quite precious,” summed up Hamilton.

Despite the love and passion, the Brit isn’t looking back at the season, but rather looking ahead. His highlights is more about gelling with the team rather than results on track. He played down his level of frustration as talked about after Las Vegas, where he highlighted that nothing has worked for him.

It was a new low when he finished last in qualifying. Even he managed to recover to eighth in the end, it was still not enough to lift up his mood then. “I don’t [look back],” said Hamilton. Just look forwards. There’s not really much to say. The results have shown. There are some positives to take from it, and you just move forwards.

“I gelled with the team and there’s amazing passion within the team. And just going to focus on next year. [The biggest thing to learn is] probably just rebounding. Just getting back up. I think probably I’d be surprised if the other drivers are excited about next year at the end of a season, because usually you don’t have a lot of energy at the end of a season.

“You’re looking forward to time with family and stuff. That’s really it. But, I mean, look—that was just in the heat of frustration. Often, there’s a lot of frustration at the end of the races, particularly when they haven’t gone well. So, no, I’m excited to see what the team build next year and to continue to build on with them,” summed up Hamilton, who is trying to save sixth in the drivers’ standings from Andrea Kimi Antonelli, who is now only 15 points behind.
