Pierre Gasly says his answers will be similar for the rest of F1 2025 season, but notes team still has to execute things even though it will unlikely be for points.
Alpine has missed few chances to score amid the handful they got. With the focus on 2026, it is unlikely that they will get a lot in the remainder of the F1 2025 season, but Gasly stresses that the team still has to execute race weekends irrespective of whether they will score.
He notes his answers during race weekends will be similar for the remainder, as he doesn’t see things to change wholly considering the competition around. It is not just chassis or engine, but the car on the whole which isn’t there to deliver consistent results as he would like.
He feels the execution part from the team’s end will be useful once they are in better position in F1 2026. “We know where we are lacking and to be fair its global, it is chassis and engine, it is not one to blame more than the other,” said Gasly to media. “I think we know the reasons why on both ends.
“That’s the positive on the flipside, we just to approach it in the same way as normal racing, keep trying our best and keep giving our best chances because the approach regardless of the car performance got to be perfect. I think that is most important, in terms of operation, going into racing whether we are fighting for race wins or P14, at the end you got to put the same dedication to it, same commitment to it.
“I think we can all agree that we haven’t achieved what we want, but the car is not going to change, it is most likely going to be the same speech, same answers for the remaining part of the year, but yeah, at least we can focus on making this…what we have in our control as best as we can.
“I am very much focused on next year and even our best performance is P16 or P17, so it is not really what we are looking for but it is more into preparing the entire team to be fighting for a much bigger result next year, pressure is probably going to be different.
“It is not the same, in terms of the state you are when you arrive into a weekend, arrive into race days. I think we got to prepare for that and as I said, it doesn’t matter what condition you fight for, you still got to execute the best way,” summed up Gasly.
