Marc Marquez fought back on Alex Marquez to win another MotoGP race in Argentina GP, as Franco Morbidelli was back on the podium.
It was cloudy conditions still at the start MotoGP race in Argentina GP as Ducati’s Marc Marquez led the way from Gresini Ducati’s Alex Marquez, who briefly lost second to Ducati’s Francesco Bagnaia but managed to regain the place as the Italian came under pressure from LCR Honda’s Johann Zarco.
The duo exchanged places for couple of laps, but Bagnaia managed to hang on. The pair of VR46 Ducati’s Fabio di Giannantonio and Franco Morbidelli slotted in fifth and sixth ahead of KTM pair of Brad Binder and Pedro Acosta, as the Top 10 had Honda’s Joan Mir and Trackhouse Aprilia’s Ai Ogura.
The rest of the points had Gresini’s Fermin Aldeguer, Yamaha’s Alex Rins, Trackhouse’s Raul Fernandez, Tech 3 KTM’s Enea Bastianini and Honda’s Luca Marini. There was clash between Aprilia’s Marco Bezzecchi and Yamaha’s Fabio Quartararo at the start, when the Italian clouted the back of the Frenchman.
Bezzecchi crashed out immediately as Quartararo dropped to last. There was also an off for Bastianini to drop to back of the field, as Fernandez was handed Long Gap Penalty for the collision. At the front, A Marquez managed to take the lead from M Marquez after a wide moment from the factory rider.
Morbidelli, meanwhile, passed Zarco and Bagnaia to climb up to third, as Bagnaia resisted Zarco’s pressure. Binder was sixth from di Giannantonio as Ogura climbed up to eighth from Mir and Acosta, where the latter two exchanged places for multiple times.
Rins was 11th from Marini, as Pramac Yamaha’s Jack Miller was 13th from Aldeguer and Tech 3’s Maverick Vinales in the Top 15 points places. At the front, A Marquez started to come under pressure from M Marquez despite some hairy moment in his chase for the lead.
M Marquez made a move on A Marquez but ran wide to allow the latter to retain the Argentina GP lead. After multiple attempts, the factory Ducati rider finally made it through to retake the lead. Behind them, Morbidelli was third but Bagnaia started to close in on him with five laps remaining.
Zarco was fifth from di Giannantonio, who managed to pass Binder as Ogura was eighth after back and forth moment against Acosta, who cleared Mir early on. At the front, M Marquez checked out A Marquez to win another MotoGP race in Argentina GP in 2025 season.
Morbidelli resisted pressure from Bagnaia to finish on the podium for the first time in four years. Di Gianantonio passed Zarco on the final lap to finish fifth as Binder was seventh from Ogura and Acosta as Mir was 10th from teammate Marini in points, as Rins was 12th from Vinales.
Miller was 14th as Quartararo recovered to 15th to score the final point, as Aldeguer missed out in 16th from Fernandez, Bastianini and LCR’s Somkiat Chantra to round out the 19 finishers. Both Pramac’s Miguel Oliveira and Aprilla’s Luca Savadori did not start the MotoGP race.
