Aston Martin inked a multi-year deal with Arm to be its AI Compute Platform Partner, with Jessica Hawkins as the brand ambassador.

The Aston Martin Aramco Formula One Team has announced a landmark multi-year partnership with Arm, who join as the team’s Official AI Compute Platform Partner. The partnership spans technology and inclusion, driving positive change across STEM and motorsport. As a global leader in power-efficient, high-performance compute technology, Arm’s innovation powers more than 300 billion devices worldwide from sensors, to smartphones, to supercomputers and racecars.

In Formula One – the pinnacle of technical precision and innovation – the Arm compute platform will drive advancements in AI and computing, enabling Aston Martin Aramco to push the boundaries of performance both on and off the track. Through the partnership, Arm and the team aim to foster a more inclusive and equitable future in motorsport and STEM.

Jessica Hawkins, Head of F1 Academy at Aston Martin Aramco, will represent Arm as an Official Ambassador, championing opportunities for women in motorsport. Arm are proud to support the team’s F1 Academy programme which was created to nurture female talent and aligns with Arm’s mission to empower the next generation of engineers, racers and innovators. The partnership will include initiatives to advance pathways for women in motorsport and in leadership including Arm’s role as the Presenting Partner for the team’s International Women’s Day activities.

Together, they will inspire and enable a new generation of talent while addressing the gender gap in technical fields. With Formula One widely regarded as one of the most technical global sports, Arm’s technology and AI expertise will play a pivotal role in enhancing the team’s performance on and off the track. Arm’s automotive technologies are designed to meet the growing computing, safety and real-time demands of modern vehicles, and are already deployed in several applications in the Aston Martin Aramco racecar.

By partnering on designing leading-edge systems, the two teams will develop innovative control and instrumentation systems that can be used directly on the car, and in test and development environments, to deliver on-track performance gains.  Areas of focus include the development of intelligent wheel guns, automated jacks, release light systems for a new pit-stop system and in the instrumentation and control for the team’s new wind tunnel model. This collaboration exemplifies the shared vision of Arm and Aston Martin Aramco to accelerate innovation, advance equity and inspire future generations in one of the world’s most demanding and dynamic arenas.

Arm branding will feature on the rear wing arm of the AMR25 car and the pit stop gantry for every race. The brand will also receive elevated visibility on the F1 Academy car and race suit. A livestream at CES – the world’s biggest tech show – today will feature key spokespeople from both organisations and explore the future opportunities this partnership will bring, particularly around inclusion for women in motorsport and a groundbreaking technology collaboration.

Andy Cowell, CEO, Aston Martin Aramco Formula One Team, said: “This partnership with Arm marks an exciting chapter in Aston Martin Aramco’s journey.  Arm’s expertise in compute and AI technology will play a significant role in enhancing performance and driving forward engineering innovation inside the team, to help deliver performance on the track.
