Nico Hulkenberg, Kevin Magnussen say that the target for Haas is certainly to beat Visa Cash App RB in the remaining six F1 races.

Haas (31) is right now three points behind Visa Cash App RB (34) in the fight for sixth in the championship. They have Williams right behind on 16 points. They are a bit far but their recent scoring has been good, especially with the new charge from Franco Colapinto.

The focus is largely on the former two F1 teams, who are closer to each other at the moment. And the aim for Haas pair of Hulkenberg and Magnussen is to charge on the ailing Visa Cash App RB outfit. The latter has been on a struggle spree despite some handy updates.

And they have a driver change as well. Liam Lawson will replace Daniel Ricciardo from US GP onward, where Haas will bring another update. “That’s the plan, I think everyone in the team firmly believes that we can challenge and fight them, obviously, it is good we scored points and in Baku, we should have scored more,” said Hulkenberg to media.

“And now again, we have six races to go, it is all to play for. Obviously, they are not going to hand it to us, they will obviously try to fight back but it is just the race till the end but we have good momentum, obviously, now there is a bit of a break, the next one is a triple-header that I really look forward to, it is actually my favourite time of the season.

“We’re competitive in the races, and in Austin, we actually get further upgrades. So that’s encouraging, but I think some good circuits coming for us and our package, and I look forward to hopefully a couple more points,” summed up Hulkenberg, whose teammate Magnussen added that the approach from Haas has been better this year with smaller steps of updates which has helped them secure better results.

“I think it is exciting and at the moment, it is certainly that we are stronger than him, so we aught to take the fight,” said Magnussen. “Also, Williams looks strong, probably than we do right now, at least in qualifying, but in the races we tend to catch up. Lets see in the next race, we have an upgrade and hopefully it can work for us.

“This year we kind of had a different approach. We brought things on the car that don’t look big, put more emphasis on that we make a step forward rather than focusing on making a huge leap, so hopefully it will just be a small step, that seems to have worked well this year,” summed up Magnussen.
