Charlie Wurz – son of former F1 racer Alexander – will stay back in FIA F3 for a second year, as he joins Trident for 2025 season.

Trident Motorsport is pleased to announce the first of its three drivers for the 2025 FIA Formula 3 Championship. The team based in Milan and operating out of Ossona, which won the championship title in 2023 with Gabriel Bortoleto and in 2024 with Leonardo Fornaroli, will field promising Austrian driver Charlie Wurz next season.

For the 18-year-old second-generation racer, the coming one will be the second year in the series, where he made his debut this year scoring ten points. Son of Alex Wurz, a three-time F1 podium finisher, Charlie won the F.4 UAE title in 2023 and the Formula Regional Oceania championship the following year. After a season of learning and progress in the FIA Formula 3 Championship, the Monte Carlo native is all set for a competitive season.

Giacomo Ricci, Team Manager Trident Motorsport: “We are very delighted to announce that Charlie Wurz will be joining the Trident Motorsport family. Charlie is smart and fast and will be contesting his second year in the FIA Formula 3 Championship. We are convinced that he can do very well representing our colors. We are looking forward to working with him during the post-season test session.”

Charlie Wurz, Trident Motorsport driver, FIA F3 Championship 2025: “I am really happy to have signed with Trident and to be able to compete with the team that has won the last two titles in the FIA Formula 3 Championship. The Team’s trophy case could not be more prestigious. There is already great chemistry with the team, as we share the same motivations and desire to win. I know that I can and must learn a lot from them. I am already training for next year and I can’t wait to get to work.”
