Jorge Martin came through to win MotoGP sprint in German GP, as Miguel Oliveira was second from Francesco Bagnaia.
It was a strong start from Ducati’s Francesco Bagnaia to lead the MotoGP sprint in German GP at Sachsenring to get ahead of Trackhouse Aprilia’s Miguel Oliveira, as pole-sitter Pramac Ducati’s Jorge Martin dropped to third at the end of Lap 1.
He regained second soon, as Trackhouse’s Raul Fernandez was fourth from Aprilia’s Maverick Vinales, Ducati’s Enea Bastianini, Gresini Ducati’s Alex Marquez, Pramac’s Franco Mrobidelli and KTM’s Brad Binder in the Top 9 points placing position.
Gresini’s Marc Marquez was right on tail of the points, as Bagnaia came under pressure from Martin who eventually barged his way to the MotoGP sprint lead. The Italian dropped behind Oliveira as Bastianini climbed up to fourth after clearing multiple riders.
Even Morbidelli climbed up to fifth with Vinales dropping to sixth ahead of another climber in the form of M Marquez. Binder was eighth from A Marquez in the points places, as R Fernandez dropped outside the points in 10th.
It settled down at the front with Martin securing the MotoGP sprint win in German GP, but Oliveira was just under a second from the Spaniard in second. Bagnaia had to settle for third ahead of teammate Bastianini, with Morbidelli rounding the Top 5.
It was to the flag finish for M Marquez and Vinales where the former took sixth from the latter by 0.003s margin as Binder was eighth and A Marquez ninth to score the final points. The Top 10 was eventually rounded out by VR46 Ducati’s Marco Bezzecchi.
