Ferrari stayed 1-2 in FP2 of F1 Singapore GP under the floodlights with Carlos Sainz this time ahead of Charles Leclerc and George Russell.
It was another smooth FP2 session in F1 Singapore GP under the floodlights where some drivers had wall bumps and run-off moments. The former saw Aston Martin’s Lance Stroll and Haas’ Kevin Magnussen having that but managing to continue on.
The run-off moments saw Williams’ Logan Sargeant and Mercedes’ George Russell have one in the final corner but they managed to save themselves. At the front, Ferrari continued their top run with another 1-2 finish but with Carlos Sainz (1m32.120s) this time.
Teammate Charles Leclerc was 0.018s behind with Russell slotting in third after a late quick lap. Aston Martin’s Fernando Alonso separated the two Mercedes drivers with Lewis Hamilton in fifth after a better run from both the F1 teams.
McLaren’s Lando Norris was sixth from Red Bull’s Sergio Perez who jumped to seventh after late lap from teammate Max Verstappen where both the Red Bull cars suffered from rear issues to be at the far end of the Top 10 on the streets of Marina Bay.
Magnussen was ninth from Alfa Romeo’s Valtteri Bottas in the Top 10, with the other Haas of Nico Hulkenberg while AlphaTauri’s Liam Lawson doing well in 12th. It wasn’t a great run for Alpine with Esteban Ocon only 13th and Pierre Gasly in 18th.
Aston Martin’s Lance Stroll was 14th from McLaren’s Oscar Piastri, who did not have all the updates on his car. AlphaTauri’s Yuki Tsunoda was 16th from Alfa Romeo’s Zhou Guanyu, Gasly and the Williams pair of Sargeant and Alexander Albon, where the Thai racer did not run much after a potential power unit issue.
