Disney+ has shared first look of its upcoming documentary on the success of Brawn GP when it won the 2009 championship.
Amid host of movies and series being made on F1, Disney+ has its own documentary being made with Hollywood star Keanu Reeves. He was spotted trackside this year at Silverstone while filming for the original documentary series.
It is titled ‘Brawn: The Impossible Formula 1 Story’ and will be series of four episodes which will showcase the journey of the F1 team which came into existence after the departure of Honda. Nobody imagined them to be fighting for the title in 2009.
But with Button and Rubens Barrichello, they did the unthinkable to win the championship. The documentary will give a behind the scenes tour of how they managed to do so with Button and Brawn featuring primarily in discussions with Reeves.
North One is the production house developing the documentary series, with Simon Hammerson as the producer. Reeves is not just the host but also the executive producer along with Sean Doyle and Neil Duncanson. No release date has been mentioned yet.
“We’ve spent the past year making ambitious documentaries with exclusive access to A-list names with the best creative talent in the business,” said Doyle. “It’s been great to see the reactions to Finding Michael and Save Our Squad with David Beckham and I can’t wait for audiences to see what else we’ve been up to and discover stories they may not expect to see on Disney+.”
