Roberto Merhi has announced his retirement from Formula Renault 3.5 Series for this final 3 rounds of the season with Pons Racing.
His commitments with Manor Formula 1 Team, don’t allow him to keep the dual program that he was doing during the season.
The Spaniard initial plan was to only miss the Monaco round, but when Silverstone date was moved, he also had to miss that round what it makes him take the decision to leave the series.
Rene Binder, who was driving with Trident at GP2 this season, will replace him at least this weekend in Nürburgring. The Austrian driver will have as a teammate another rookie, Yu Kanamaru who replace Philo Paz Patric Armand because of Visa difficulties.
Is the first time of the season that any titular driver will drive this weekend.
