Lewis Hamilton won the Japanese GP after he got the lead on the first corners in the first lap. Nico Rosberg and Sebastian Vettel completed the podium.

Hamilton had a better start than Rosberg and pushed him wide in one of the Ss, causing Rosberg to lose position with Vettel and Bottas. Contact between Ricciardo and Massa left them both with a puncture, and there was another one for Pérez after contact with Sainz.

Rosberg overtook Bottas on track in the last chicane and later on Vettel with an undercut. Behind, the McLaren-Honda drivers were fighting against their cars trying to keep other drivers behind them.

Nobody could beat Hamilton once again, so he won the Japanese GP ahead of Rosberg, who made up for his poor start. Vettel completed the podium ahead of Bottas, Räikkönen, Hülkenberg, Grosjean, Maldonado, Verstappen and Sainz.
