Marlon Stockinger will race this season ending with Lotus at Formula Renault 3.5 Series.
The driver who currently is racing in GP2 Series with Status Grand Prix, returning to the series were he raced the past two years and in the same team to replace Meindert Van Buuren, who had contractual problems.
Stockinger had to decide between Formula Renault 3.5 Series and GP2 Series who both have race this week, the Filipino driver decided to race in WSR. Something similar has done Alfonso Celis in AVF Team. The Mexican who is racing in GP3 in ART Grand Prix and in FR3.5, decided to do the French series instead of FIA’s one.
In what refers to Meindert Van Buuren, he had lived this situation before at Red Bull Ring who he had to race with his ex-team, Pons Racing, who is not going to have Roberto Merhi in Silverstone and Le Mans due to Formula 1 meetings, this may us think that van Buuren will replace the Spanish as Philo Paz Patric Armand will join again after the non-participation in Spielberg.
