In Race 1, Jonathan Rea won over Chaz Davies and Xavi Fores in a race which was to be stopped due to a heavy accident at turn 11. In Race 2 it was Davies who won over Rea.

Race 1

Jonathan Rea (Kawasaki Racing Team WorldSBK) stole the lead of the race from pole sitter Marco Melandri who drop to fifth place. But on lap 3 a multiple crash that involved riders Jordi Torres (MV Agusta Reparto Corse), Lorenzo Savadori (Milwaukee Aprilia) and Leon Camier (Red Bull Honda World Superbike Team) caused the suspension of the race.

At the restart of the race, Rea dominated despite being passed once by Xavier Forés (Barni Racing). The Briton anyway passed the Spaniard and build a solid gap to win the race.

Welsh driver, Chaz Davies (Aruba.it Racing – Ducati) finished second ahead of Forés. Behind them Melandri finished fourth ahead of van der Mark, Tom Sykes (Kawasaki Racing Team) and Alex Lowes.

Michael Ruben Rinaldi (Aruba.it Racing – Junior Team) shined in his debut in World SuperBikes championship taking 8th place, finishing in front of Toprak Razgatlioglu (Kawasaki Pucetti Racing) and Román Ramos (Team GoEleven).

Race 2

This race started with Forés and Melandri in the lead while Rea was waiting right behind them for his opportunity. Rea easily took second place thanks to Melandri’s problems to control his bike, and then, Forés crashed out, leaving Rea alone in the lead.

But it was not done yet as Davies was on his comeback, he took second position and was closing the gap in the final laps. A mistake from Rea on last lap let Davies take the victory in Ducati’s home.

Marco Melandri completed the podium, finishing ahead of Pata Yamaha Official WorldSBK Team riders, Alex Lowes and Michael van der Mark.

Tom Sykes finished sixth after a poor first lap. Rinaldi was seventh, ahead of Torres, Razgatlioglu and Salvadori.
