Pascal Wehrlein took his second victory in the DTM at Norisring street circuit. The German driver started from P5, has been helped by the strategy to finish first.

Robert Wickens started from seventh place, and he finished on the podium in Norisring for third consecutive time. The Canadian driver overtook Paffett and Vietoris at the end of the race. These Mercedes-Benz drivers finished third and fourth, respectively; making a top 4 for Mercedes. The last time that this happened was in 2010, on the opening round in Hockenheim.

Bruno Spengler finished fifth, Tomczyk sixth, Farfus eight and Wittmann ninth. This is a good result from BMW drivers, after a bad weekend in Lausitzring.

Audi drivers made a bad race, their cars have an extra 35kg than the other drivers, and their best driver was the championship leader, Jamie Green.
