DTM will keep on racing at the Nürburgring, in the fairly long term. A contract for the years up to and including 2017 now was signed by capricorn Nürburgring GmbH (CNG) and DTM promoter ITR. Since its debut appearance back in 1984, DTM contested a total of 69 races at the Nürburgring.

The next race meeting of the most popular international touring-car series at the Nürburgring will be contested from 25th to 27th September. In the 15th and 16th rounds of the season, the premium-car manufacturers Audi, BMW and Mercedes-Benz once again are ready to meet the challenge represented by the prestigious three-way battle in DTM. In addition, the FIA Formula 3 European Championship, Porsche Carrera Cup Germany and Audi Sport TT Cup also will entertain the crowds on site – and the same applies to the German band Culcha Candela as show act.

“The Nürburgring is – so to say – the mother of all the racetracks on German soil and has been a constant on the DTM calendar since the creation of the series. This is supposed to be continued in the future and now was sealed with a two-year deal. ITR and the Nürburgring want to jointly work for the success of DTM and keep on improving the experience for the spectators,”said ITR Chairman Hans Werner Aufrecht on the occasion of the contract signing.

“DTM most definitely is one of the highlights of the Nürburgring season,” underlined CNG CEO Carsten Schumacher. “The contract running up to and including 2017 signed now represents an important milestone for the future of the Nürburgring. We are looking forward to continuing the successful cooperation with ITR. We want to jointly work on attracting even bigger crowds, with the DTM race meetings at the Nürburgring.”
