Valentino Rossi take the victory at Silverstone after a race of crashes, drama, rain that helps Petrucci to earn his first podium in the premier class as Dovizioso finished third.


With Brad Pitt watching the race, all the pilots and teams were looking to the sky to know with what tyres they had to start the race. But when they were doing the warm-up lap the rain came to the track and every rider had to change its tyres, causing the red flag and 25 minutes of delay.

At the final race started with Jorge Lorenzo leading the way, but immediately Rossi and Márquez escaped from the Movistar Yamaha rider. Rossi took the lead until the end of the race despite Márquez chasing behind him. The reigning-world-champion made a mistake with 8 laps to go at turn 1, and had to retire. An important abandon for Repsol Honda rider in terms of championship battle.

This helped Danilo Petrucci to get second place and earn his maiden podium in the premiere class. The Pramac Racing rider, showed an amazing pace thanks to break really, really late. Amazing result for the Italian who started from 18th place in the grid.

Completes the history Italian podium, Andrea Dovizioso. Is the second podium of the season for the Ducati Team rider, after the third place in Assen.

Out of podium position finished Lorenzo fourth, Pedrosa fifth and Redding sixth. The local hero who is joining Pramac for 2016, achieves his best result in MotoGP after several seventh places like this year in Catalan Grand Prix.

Completes the top 10, Smith from Monster Yamaha, Iannone on eight position, Aleix Espargaró from Team Suzuki ECSTAR was ninth as Álvaro Bautista finished on heroic tenth position, it’s first top10 for him this season and the best ever result for Aprilia Racing Team Gresini.

Today we had a lot of crashes. Jack Miller didn’t found the break zone and made contact with his teammate Cal Crutchlow, both LCR Honda riders retired from the race.  Pol Espargaró and Stefan Bradl crashed too.

Rossi is now 12 points in front of Lorenzo in MotoGP standings, as Márquez is very far from the battle with 75 points behind Rossi, then Iannone is fourth 84 points behind his compatriot.
