The FP3 has held the fight for getting into Q2. Marc Márquez has taken the best time, followed by his team mate Pedrosa and Bautista. Six Ducatis and no Yamahas have finished into the Top 10.

Riders went quickly on track in order to recognise the track, focused specially on the “new” chicane. This would be an even more important session due to the fact that all the times set yesterday had been cancelled, which meant that the fight for avoiding Q1 would be held in this session.

For that reason, everybody went to search a good lap since the very beginning, which caused crashes for Marc Márquez and Álvaro Bautista, both in turn 10. Despite the crash, Márquez was leading ahead of his team mate Dani Pedrosa.

Towards the second half of the session, riders like Maverick Viñales or Aprilia’s Aleix Espargaró had got close to the leaders. The Yamaha rider was about to move up to the lead, but he had to slow down due to Johann Zarco crashed at turn 9.

The last minutes arrived and times began to fall dramatically, everybody was improving and nobody lasted long on top. Finally, it was Márquez who moved up to first with one minute to go with a 1:44.178, followed by Pedrosa and Bautista. Six Ducatis out of eight have made it to Q2 while no Yamahas have done it: Viñales and Valentino Rossi would have to do the Q1, being the first time that the current championship leader has to do it.
