Christian Lundgaard has had no trouble getting his first FIA Formula 4 Spanish victory in Race 1 of Motorland Aragon. Smolyar and Happalainen complete the podium.

With Xavier Lloveras (FA Racing) starting on pole position, the local fans dreamed of a Spanish victory. But the Catalan had a bad start and yielded the first place to Christian Lundgaard (MP Motorsport), who would maintain it until the chequered flag.

The second place of the podium was for Alexander Smolyar (SMP Racing), who managed to easily overtake the young driver of the circuit of Catalonia. Lloveras was also surpassed by Tuomas Happalainen (SMP Racing) and Nikita Volegov (SMP Racing), who had stopped at the start.

The other Catalan, Guillem Suba (FA Racing), despite making a decent start, would finish in sixth place after running the entire race defending from Lukas Dunn (MP Motorsport) and Ivan Berets (Drivex School).

Ninth was the only girl in the class, Marta Garcia (MP Motorsport), who caused an accident in the second turn when trying to overtake Juuso Puhaka (SMP Racing) and Sami-Matti Trogen (SMP Racing) at the same time. Both drivers abandoned, and so did Javier Cobian (Drivex School), who could not avoid the crash.

James Caouette (Drivex School) completed the points zone in his first race in Europe.
